Is Full-Service Design More Than You Need? Meet E-Design!
When I started my design business many years ago, my intent was to offer interior design that was accessible to a wide range of consumers. I wanted a business model that allowed me to serve my clients as much or as little as they needed. The other thing that appealed to me was to be able to work with clients that didn’t necessarily live in my immediate area. It took several years of learning, but with the advent of video apps like Zoom and YouTube, just to name a few, E-design has become something that I am able to offer my clients and it’s easier than ever.
Today I’m going to share with you how my E-Design process works, and answer your most common questions to shed some light on this exciting and easy option for a professionally designed space all done from the comfort of your own home.
What is E-Design?
Simply put, E-Design is an affordable way for an interior designer to create a beautifully designed space for their client, and it's all done online! Typically, a design is created for a single room and is priced at a set fee.
Who is E-Design For?
Although there are many reasons clients opt for E-Design, the most common are:
Clients would rather do anything but waste a weekend shopping or searching Pinterest. They have no idea where to start or what to buy, and want a plan that is easy to follow. While others are fairly design savvy, can shop on their own but want a budget friendly plan(sometimes you just need someone to bounce ideas off, ya know!)
What's Included in E-Design?
E-Design can take many shapes and forms. I offer different services depending on the project. The first is for renovation projects like kitchens or bathrooms, the second is for redecorating projects. and the third is a shorter 90 min Virtual Design session that will likely address one room or be the start of a bigger project.
Kitchen and bathroom designs, can include a virtual consultation, floor plan and virtual model of the space; cabinet dimensions, material suggestions and a summary of the scope of work.
Redecorating projects depend on the level of service you require, but generally include a virtual design consultation via Zoom, a mood-board that shows furniture and accessories or a full 3D virtual design complete with a mood-board, product list and instructions for placement of every item.

We are all spending more and more time in our homes and we need them to function better than ever. I was recently talking to a group of fellow design professionals and the one thing we agree upon was that, as designers, we are all passionate about bringing ideas to our clients to help them achieve a functional, beautiful home no matter what the budget. E-design is a platform that allows us to provide a beautiful design, clients can implement on their own, at a price point most can afford.
